Life’s Changes…

Well, I guess I know what happens when I ignore this thing or put it on the back burner — visits drop off dramatically…  Guess I’ll have to think up stuff to occasionally opine about…

Realizations have been a constant the past few weeks — some I’ve known for some time or suspected, others just stood up front and center…

The Eyes have it…
This is one I’ve more or less known there was something to it but didn’t know the extent until about 2 weeks ago…  Have known for some time that the first computer I purchased monitor shot the vision in my left eye — thing just wouldn’t focus on certain things — particularly those Magic Eye hidden picture thingies…  I barely passed by last 2 Texas Driver License Eye tests because that peeper wouldn’t focus…

Had to take a physical for a possible new position about a week and half ago — passed everything easily except the eye exam — most surprising with the history of heart problems from my dad’s side…  Missed 2 on the color blind test — they were almost Magic Eye like — one of them I just guessed wrong — but I passed…  On the actual eye exam the verdict was simple — you need spectacles…  Actually have gone the contact lens route, but didn’t take long to realize that "Hey, I should have done this sooner…"

Still learning how to get those soft little $%^$# in my eyes in a timely fashion but they were definitely needed…
Communication with others…
Another one of those knew it before, but recently became reacquainted with one of
Kev’s Personal Undeniable Truths of Life:  Kev, you have always communicated better with those older or younger than yourself — you suck when it’s people your own age…

T’is possible that’s where some of the problems I create here arise…  I could type more here but would probably only stir up more trouble…
Interest in this thing…
A non-intentional proving my point revelation…  Last week’s stats showed a whopping 72 page views — << at least 15 of those was me checking >> — long story short — if I don’t keep things fresh this will die dies…  So here’s to keeping something going…  I definitely never would have imagined that I would have created and maintained this thing this long…  Would appreciate some help — sometime…
There were some other thought areas but I can’t seem to make then coherent at this time, so I may venture on those at some later date…  Per the usual take all for what it’s worth…  Enjoy as you wish…

News, briefs, and otherwise worthless dribble….

Greetings, felicitations, and all that other polite $@#%…  errr…  Stuff…  Keepin’ it "G" for the masses…  or at least "PG"

Guess it’s time for an update of some sort — nothing really of any relevance for a single blog, so I’ll just scattershoot several topics or issues for content…
New member spottings:
With an assist from Doug Whittenberg, we have added Tammy Smith to the E-Listings…  Stacey Malone Coleman has joined Classmates.com — message sent shows read, but have yet to receive a response or an e-address…  Others @ Classmates, I just send the occasional message — perhaps someday…

Your 2007 State of the Site Address:
It’s still here…  I’m still in charge…  Got dicey in November just short of the anniversary date when MSN shut it down, but THS 88 on the Web lives on…

Best and Worst Feature of THS 88 on the Web:
The biggest blessing is our biggest curse — the E-List aka THS 88 Addresses…  Got the site terminated by MSN…  Even in the earliest days of this thing’s creation I wouldn’t have left it off…  Provides direct access to anyone at any time — unfortunately, it has become an easy way to bypass or avoid communication with "the greater group" with blog responses, etc.

Out of Nowhere News:
Someone out in the world did a Google Search for " Southern Cooking, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo" and got directed to my Crock Pot Recipe — Now for Something Totally Different…  Nov 2006 — so it amuses me personally…

Remembering THS 88 @ Yahoo Groups features…

The THS 88 Birthday Calendar

The ability of members to post pics of self, family, etc.
The occasional opinion poll…
Archives of THS 88:  Briefs — the weekly E-mail updates for THS 88 or just the overall Free-For-All nature…

SUPER BOWL XLI: Colts WIN !!!

T’was a wet and soggy night at Dolphins
Stadium in Miami home of Super Bowl XLI…  The NFL selects southern cities
or Domes to host the Super Bowls for a fair weather game — temp was good but
sometimes the rain comes…

Game started up dicey for our Champion
Colts — having won the coin toss da Bears chose to receive and 92 yards later
and with just 15 seconds of the clock the score was 7 – 0 Bears…  The
Colts learned quick what I have typed here on a few occasions — whatever you do
— do not kick the ball to Devin Hester — and they did not kick a returnable
ball to him the rest of the evening — squib kicks on kick-offs to be handled by
the up-men, punts with a lot of air under them to allow the coverage team to
arrive with the ball or into the end zone for the touchback…  Lesson
Learned…

Colts started off sloppy with Peyton
Manning throwing an early pick but that would be the last of Peyton’s
jitters…  The vaunted Bears defense could not stop the run or the screen
pass to the running backs or tight ends — at one point in the second half it
was announced that da Bears had 5 first downs for the game…  3 and out
was pretty much it…

The Colts, who had a horrid, defense,
especially against the run, all season stepped up with the return from injury of
Bob Sanders, only allowing 1 big play from the ground and stifling anything da
Bears tried to do offensively.

Final Score 29 – 17…  Peyton Manning
MVP — no longer to be projected as the Greatest Quarterback not to win a
Super Bowl — that’ll stick with Dan Marino until the next great one comes
around…  Now it’s only a question of how many he will win…

The Commercials — overall were pretty
dull…  Bud Light had probably the best in humor with the English class
for immigrants and the couple picking up the hitch hiker…  The Prince
halftime show wasn’t bad…  Just makes you wonder if a female artist will
ever headline the halftime festivities — thank you Justin and
Janet…

With all this typed and done — I’m on a
winning streak of picking winners since 2002 — probably the longest of my life
— but like most things, that personal claim to fame ain’t worth
anything…
