Monthly Archives: March 2011

Oh crap !!!

just looked back on some of the old posts and noticed that with the transfer the names of the posters did not follow — so I am now using the best of my memory to “Reply” and attribute the posts correctly…

‘Course you’d actually have to be reading to know any of this…  Oh well !!!

THS 88: March 2011

Welcome once again THS 88 and Friends — though some can say I use terms liberally — like it or not there’s nothing else out there like this or THS 88 on the Web…

Thought I forgot about you — yes you did…  NOT !!!  Of course these things get a little crazy now that people don’t check their e-mail accounts and just get their messages from Facebook et al…

We interrupt this important program for a special message from the office of Texas Governor Rick Perry

The Texas Declaration of Independence is the Touchstone of the Texas Century

Today, across Texas and beyond, Texans are celebrating Texas Independence Day, commemorating the moment when 59 brave men gathered at Washington-on-the-Brazos to sign the Texas Declaration of Independence. The love for freedom that drove those individuals to put pen to paper is still the centerpiece of our culture some 175 years later.

Not content to walk the beaten path, Texans throughout history have been willing to risk much in the pursuit of a brighter future. In my mind, that bedrock value is the foundation of what I call the Texas Century, in which we apply our time-tested values of self-determination, integrity and sacrifice to set a tone of accountability and responsibility for the nation.

As we continue our efforts to hold Washington accountable and balance our state budget without raising taxes, we not only want you to be informed, but also invite your friends to connect as well. So please visit my Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/GovernorPerry, and click “Like.” This will keep my updates coming right to your wall and anyone else who accepts your invitation. It’s a great way to get reacquainted with our vision, but also share it with your friends.

So, join us in celebrating the Texas Century and honoring the memory of those brave souls who declared Texas free.

Happy Texas Independence Day,  and Happy Birthday Lil’ Errol Wilson (added for dramatic effect)
Rick Perry

Not a native Texan, by my 14 years there definitely yields there is a Texas State of Mind and it would be good for the rest of the Nation to have it as well

We now return to our regular programming…

Let’s see what we got…  That ice storm Super Bowl week was killer — 23 hours without power here Friday – Saturday — no cable or internet Friday – Monday — finally got someone from Suddenlink that understood just because the Casa has a Dry Prong address doesn’t mean it’s in Dry Prong — but “we haven’t restored service to all of Dry Prong yet” — that’s mailing address only — much like American Airlines’ Campus at 360 and 183, south of DFW Airport is Fort Worth but Fort Worth proper is still 40 minutes away…  I missed the Super Bowl…

Locally shooting at Grant Parish Courthouse in Colfax on Monday…  One deputy and the alleged gunman shot — now why is the perp always referred to as “alleged” when people saw them do it ???  Like whack job terrorist Major Hassan at Fort Hood — hundreds of witnesses, a shot cop who put a bullet or 2 in him and he’s the alleged shooter…
