May 2019: Perhaps Spring/Summer will Trump the Rain/Severe Weather

For those afar, here in CenLA and North Texas, have been slammed by a some sort of Severe Thunderstorms and Tornadoes of some sort at least once a week for most all of April.  The latest sent a tornado through Ruston and causing damage to the LA Tech campus.  Offspring of Nikki Jones Spurgeon and Rhonda Davis Moody all safe and well — last post from Nikki said power restoration was estimated for Thursday, May 2, it might be on by now.  Tech’s Sport Complex, Baseball, Softball, and Soccer all sustained damage.

THS News:

Almost a comedy of errors.  Had hoped to get that hiatal hernia repair 2nd or so week of April.  Doc visit on the 4th, he wanted a swallow test or more specifically an Esophageal Manometry — they shove a small tube up your nose and down your throat (Esophagus) flood you with salt water to swallow and measure you swallowing.  Had that done on the 9th, with follow-up pre-surgical Doc visit on the 16th.  Got there on the 16th and NO TEST RESULTS — so Doc and I twiddled our thumbs and set another appointment for the 25th — Doc was a wee bit ticked off when he opened that folder to no test results.

Suffice to say, surgery is finally scheduled for later this month — a chance to see my old friends from anesthesiology, day surgery, OR, etc.  I’ll post to Facebook when I’m home.  Surgery and 1-3 days stay in the Big House.  Full recover in 6 weeks.

They wanted to schedule for May 1st, but HEY I’ve got a blog to put out.  Actually had several other plans I had committed to back when I thought surgery was going to be 3 weeks ago — but I digress.

Doc says I should be eating chicken breast when they kick me out — I just hope it’s more moist than that pork chop I had in the cafeteria back in April.

Mississippi River levy breech in Davenport, Iowa:

Not sure where in Iowa the Tonja Craig Winekauf clan resides.

Side note — Mississippi River has been in flood stage at Natchez, MS since January.

GRAD News — I asked, nobody responded so I found one myself.

Ashley Paul, daughter of David and Rebecca Paul, graduates from Buckeye.  Was commander of Buckeye’s JROTC.  Going to University of Louisiana – Lafayette, that was USL back in our day.  Studying Pre-Law.

Computer messed up with a Windows 10 update back in March — start up conflict, and then I really messed it up last weekend.  Trip to Geek Squad and a full re-install and we’re BAaAaCK.  That was totally useless and unnecessary information, but who’s gonna stop me?
