Welcome new… Welcome Old… THS 88’ers and Friends…
Gonna open a little different with a brief history of these E-mail Offerings and then get around to the less than important stuff…
Well at the 10 year Reunion of THS 88 (1998) there was talk of doing a 15 during the after-party chat session — that would be 2003. Sometime in 2003 I obtained 12 or so E-addresses to assist in the possible endeavor, but nothing came of it and the E-addresses sat idle in my address book. Fast forward to 2005 — Classmates.com offered a free 7 day trial membership — taking advantage of this offer my THS 88 E-address list expanded to 25 with some of the original falling off — new jobs, changed ISP, etc. At this time I started thinking along the line of a monthly or so E-Letter for THS 88 in addition to gathering E-addresses to assist in planning the 20 year Reunion which would become known as 20n08. Then one night, playing around with MS Spaces, MSN’s attempt at social networking, and chatting via AOL Instant Messenger with Lacye Guillard-Martini (Sacramento, CA), a brainstorm — a class web site based on a blog template to communicate with the THS 88 masses — a place to share, communicate, post pics, etc — that was the vision anyway, with a little back and forth on how it worked and interacted and THS 88 on the Web was born the next day… There’s some good stuff there — post-grad stories, Back in the Day recollections, some my culinary creations and recommendations (Now for Something Different), Monica and Laura Pick the Topic, and other blogs and posts that have been categorized to make it easier to find. The site and and E-list were instrumental in putting together our UnOfficial / Informal 20n08 as the fates and circumstances almost killed a 20 year gathering. Today the E-List is composed of 180 or so THS 88’ers and Friends and THS 88 on the Web lives on despite not being updated very often — check in and read sometime — post to comments if you dare — overall you don’t have to worry about anyone seeing it.

Now on to current news and entertainment… Lots of us are gonna get slammed by cold weather, if not already — noticed Angie Durham’s (Chip’s wife) photos on Facebook — quite a bit of snow already in Northern Arkansas. Tammy Affeltranger – Beatty and Janelle Hurst – Holmstrom in Wisconsin gonna get really chilly, Tonja Craig Weinkauf in Iowa will not be spared either — our Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex contingent James Pickett, Sam Berry, Errol Wilson, Stephanie McKenzie – Mattison seems there should be another 2 or 3 in DFW but can’t recall at the moment. Stay warm, stay safe, and don’t drive if you don’t have to. John Jeansonne in Nashville but could get dicey depending as he and his Rascal Flatts brethren hit the road again for shows February 3, Cedar Park, TX, February 4, New Orleans — a southern swing, but cold is coming here too.
Super Bowl — Packers vs. Steelers — would like to see Aaron Rodgers get that Super Bowl ring to further get that Brett Favre monkey off his back, but I’m going with Big Ben and the Steelers…
LSU Football Recruiting… Signed QB Stephen Rivers, brother of San Diego Chargers, Phillip Rivers — he’s probably 2 years out, probably will be red-shirted, but we might finally get that air attack to go along with the power running game. And like it or not Les Miles is here to stay…
I know something you don’t know… Not mine to share right now… So you’re gonna havta live with it…
