THS 88: 20n08+1 for this Weekend CANCELLED !!!!

an executive decision has been made…  All festivities tentatively planned for the weekend of October 16th and 17 are hereby CANCELLED…
 
Would still like to do some sort of gathering prior to Mike LaCour departing for Afghanistan in January…  How does November 7th sound ???  LSU @ Alabama that day….
 
Just an idea…  Will judge input to determine if feasible…

THS 88: 20n08+1 — Need an Idea about Local Interest or we scratch…

Just need an idea by Thursday, October 15th of what kind of interest there might be for the Tunk’s Dinner and Drinks on Saturday, October 17th — this applies mainly to locals as they are in a much better position to attend any of these functions — and again not just THS 88 but anyone from THS who reads this via e-mail or THS 88 on the Web…  With just 3 or 4 maybes received, it doesn’t really look like or justify the effort… 
 
As for you out-of-towners, unless you were already planning to come in to visit family and attend any of our functions, I advise you to stay put and not bother…  If you’re gonna be here anyway and wish to do this let me know…
 
So simply put — need some idea of firm interest for Saturday Night by Thursday, or plans will be scrubbed with a Thursday Night E-mail — that’s cancelled — try something again in the future…
 
No biggie for me…  I just type…

20n08+1 — The October 7th Deadline has passed…

and due to your overwhelming response and demands (and if you believe that…) therefore, I’m extending the deadline to next Wednesday, October 14th… 
 
The game isn’t going anywhere and everyone local or available is obviously free to attend if they so desire… 
 
Scrub the Family gathering for Saturday — as interest seems to be rather slim — perhaps at a future date…
 
Just seeking some firm numbers now for the Tunk’s portion of the program — if we are to reserve a room — I need numbers…  Or we can just show up as group and go from there…  Individual pay — you pay for what you eat and drink…  Still need to know if we want to do the group thing, so get back with me ASAP…
 
So the revised plans are as follows…   CANCELLED
Friday Night, October 16:  Tioga vs. Grant — THS home game…  7 PM
Saturday Night, October 17:  Dinner and drinks @ Tunk’s  6:30 or 7…
That’s all for that…  Did I ever mention, I never wanted this job ???

THS 88: October 2009 for starters….

it’s October — 92 days till another year goes in the can…  
 
Approaching the two week mark for the possible 20n08+1 …  CANCELLED
THS 88‘s 20n08+1 — weekend of October 16 and 17 — this is not THS Homecoming — the summary of events…
Essentially a repeat of the original Informal / UnOfficial 20n08 as reported previously @ THS 88 on the Web — this time there is NO  LSU  conflict as this is a  BYE  week….
  • Friday Night, Oct 16:  THS home football game vs. Grant — try to sit together and watch THS kick Grant’s ass…  Sorry Boogie and Beki — but the name on the top says THS 88…  J
  • Saturday, Oct 17, Morning / Early Afternoon:  Some sort of family gathering — Buhlow Fun Park, City Park and Zoo — other ideas…
  • Saturday Night:  Dinner and Drinks @ Tunk’s — start off in a room for group interaction and such — migrate down to the oyster bar for music and more drinks.
Just a few other factors out there…
  1. These events are open to all who read about it, whether it be by e-mail or the web site…  These e-mails go out Bcc. and include members of other classes and members of your family…
  2. Events are strictly voluntary — attend whatever you wish — locals definitely have the advantage here…  Only thing I do need an idea on is the Tunk’s gathering as numbers are needed for them to staff properly — would like to have an idea at least a week out — Oct 7th or so…  E-me direct kmax2k1@hotmail.com if you can’t reply to this e-mail…  or have someone relay your interest to me…
  3. Open to dropping the family gathering if there is no or very limited interest — we can try something along those lines in the future…  
Need to have a head count of some sorts for the Tunk’s portion of the program by October 7th. The game isn’t going anywhere so whoever shows — shows, but if we are to reserve space @ Tunk’s there are staffing issues — so far I have 7 or 8 possibles — like to have that number @ least 15 or better to keep this part of the program….   

Saints and Tigers off to undefeated starts…  Hope are that will continue beyond Saturday…
